Whether this is your first year or your tenth, your decisions regarding your child's education are important. We appreciate the fact that you have chosen to live in Tucker and support the DeKalb County School District with your attendance at Livsey. Livsey is an amazing school, and our children truly excel here.
One of the many reasons our children thrive at Livsey is due to the extensive involvement of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) in the school and community. In fact, we believe that Livsey would not be the great school that it is without the efforts of many. With our parents and grandparents, our teachers and staff, and our wonderful Partner in Education, Bank of North Georgia, a division of Synovus Bank, we are consistently able to provide our students with an environment that stimulates learning and creativity. Livsey is an extraordinary school; without volunteers it's just "ordinary". We encourage you to get involved this year. We would love for you to consider giving an hour of your time, whether it be an hour a week, an hour a month, or even an hour a semester!
So, keeping all this in mind, get ready for another exciting year at Livsey! We have many fun programs and events planned, and we look forward to seeing you there. We sincerely hope that every family can feel that they are a part of the Livsey community. In the meantime, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
With Livsey Love,
Leah Heaver & Stephanie Wilson

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Livsey, I am happy to welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year. I hope your summer has gone well. We have been very busy preparing the school and grounds for your return. We are also very excited to have you and your children as a part of the Livsey family. On August 8, we will open our school doors to welcome you to the new school year. Together, in partnership, we will continue to foster a culture of learning so that each Livsey Leopard can achieve their highest potential. We fully recognize and appreciate the fact that in order for our students to be successful, they need support from both the home and school. We are more than confident that an extremely strong bond between you and your child's teacher will make an overwhelming difference in your child's growth and success. In this partnership, we share the responsibility for the success. As a school, we will do our very best, each day to nurture and challenge your child academically. To assist in facilitating school success, please ensure that your child:
At Livsey, we have a great faculty and staff! This summer, they have spent countless planning exciting and challenging learning opportunities while attending professional learning opportunities focused on meeting the needs of each child. Please know that it is an expectation that our teachers utilize research-based best practices and regularly analyze student learning data to identify patterns of strength and weaknesses. Additionally, the expectation exists that based on student learning data, teaching and learning is conducted in small group settings which allow for the teacher to better meet the needs of each and every student.
The school year begins Monday, August 8, 2016 at 8:00 am. With your support, our year can only be a successful one. Open House will be held from 8:00 am - 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. During this time, parents can view homeroom assignment lists and visit their respective teacher(s) in the classroom. Our PTO will also be on-site in the cafeteria from 8:00 am - 11:00 am. Please be certain to visit with the PTO to get information about the many activities planned for the upcoming school year and to sign-up as a volunteer on committees of your choice.
You have probably heard the saying, “if you build it, they will come.” Here at Livsey, “if they attend school on time daily and fully prepared, they will learn.” WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! We need your help by ensuring that your child is fully motivated, self-disciplined and only absent from school when it becomes absolutely necessary. Outside of a strong school-parent partnership, student attendance is a critical component of student success. Additionally, our school is scored annually on the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) based on student attendance. In fact, we are penalized when a student misses more than 5 days of school (excused or unexcused). Unless he/she is ill, we implore you to have your child present each and every day, and on time, so that we may provide the quality education that you expect.
During our Open House on Wednesday, August 3, RETURNING parents/guardians will need to complete the registration process by providing a current Proof of Residency.
Students and parents NEW to Livsey, will need to complete the entire registration process. The information below should be of great help in getting your child(ren) registered for the upcoming school year.
Proof of Residency and Affidavits of Residency
Proof of Residency must include one of the following from either July or August 2016:
In the event of co-residency, an Affidavit of Residence must be completed by the parents(s)/legal guardian(s) and homeowner/lessee and submitted to the school, with all required documents attached. The Affidavit of Residence must be submitted before the start of school or upon moving into the attendance area of the new school.
After School Care:
After school care is held on site and provided via the Afterschool Extended Day Program (ASEDP) under the direction of Barbara Garrison. On days that school is in session, the ASEDP operates from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. For additional information, please contact Barbara Garrison at 770-605-7814 or email@example.com.
Please join us in welcoming the following faculty and staff members:
Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, Livsey will become a Title I Targeted Assistance School. Targeted Assistance signifies that the services are provided to an identified group of children - those identified as failing, or most at risk of failing, to meet the state's academic achievement standards.
Livsey will receive funding to assist with closing the achievement gap for these identified students. More information to come during the school year.
Parents/guardian, we fully understand that you want the best for your child and we will do everything possible to meet your expectations. On behalf of the Livsey faculty and staff, we thank you for entrusting the education of your child to us. We do not take this responsibility lightly. I am truly humbled and honored to serve as your child's principal.
